About British Home Stores (BHS)

British Home Stores (BHS) was a much-loved British department store chain selling clothing, lighting, homeware and children's wear. Its high street shops closed in 2016 after the company went into administration, and the BHS name was later used by a separate online business selling lighting and home goods.

Gift cards from the original BHS shops could once be spent on clothes, lamps and household goods. After the 2016 administration, those older gift cards stopped being honoured, and the later online BHS does not accept them.
